Move Skyrim saves to Dropbox folder the easy way

I play Skyrim on different machines and want to have my save files automatically synced between the two. I’ve found all sorts of articles on either using Synctoy or making NTFS junctions or hard links, but I wanted something clean and easy.

Turns out, it just took a little bit of thinking and trial-and-error.

First, edit your Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Skyrim.ini file, and locate the [General] section. Add the following if it doesn’t exist:

sLocalSavePath="..\..\..\Dropbox\SkyrimSaves\"

Now, create a SkyrimSaves folder in your dropbox, and copy your saves to it.

You can also use OneDrive, just substitute OneDrive for Dropbox above.

Done.

Enjoy!

Skype 4.2 crashing frequently on Ubuntu 13.04 64bit

It’s recommended to install Skype from the Ubuntu repositories rather than the download from Skype.com. In doing so, it can be beneficial to install the package listed below as well.

If you experience Skype crashing or locking up frequently on 64-but Ubuntu 13.04, try installing the following. It fixed it for me:

sudo apt-get install libasound2-plugins:i386

Autoconfiguration of IPv6 6to4

I don’t know why I had such a hard time finding this…but the really easy way to set up an IPv6 6to4 tunnel is to use 192.88.99.1 as the 6to4 relay router address, and get an address via DHCP.

This auto-configures your IPv6 using the closest available 6to4 tunnel from your ISP.
